Drove around District 1 a bit this morning and got a few shots of some of the damage from yesterday's storm. Nothing too dramatic, but the city's tree population definitely took a hit:

News reports claimed that no one was injured by Pakhar, so that's good. On with life as normal now.

UPDATE: Story from Tuoi Tre on April 3, not everyone fared well in the storm: http://www.tuoitrenews.vn/cmlink/tuoitrenews/society/storm-kills-3-injures-5-in-southern-provinces-1.67245?localLinksEnabled=false&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

  1. Sounds like you had a pretty hefty storm down there - always amazed in Hanoi that when we get a little bit of wind you ride to work the next day and there are trees uprooted everywhere. I guess, for whatever reason, the roots don't go very deep.

    1. It wasn't a pleasant afternoon and evening, that's for sure. Not sure why the trees topple so easily.
