Help save the bears

In my recent post about animal conservation (or lack thereof) in Vietnam I discussed the potential eviction of a bear sanctuary run by Animals Asia from Tam Dao National Park. This absurd eviction isn't coming at the hands of a greedy resort developer or anything like that, but from none other than the Ministry of Defence, since the sanctuary is apparently located on land that has, all of a sudden, become strategically important. The Ministry's decision has stunned Animals Asia and conservationists around the world. However, it's not too late to act.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is preparing a report recommending the eviction that will be submitted to the Prime Minister on October 26. By visiting this page, you can send an email to the ministry asking them to save the bear sanctuary. Animals Asia has a pre-written message ready to go, you just have to sign your name and click 'send'. This may not seem like much, but options to help are limited, so go ahead and send a message. Animals in Vietnam need every little bit of help they can get.
