H2H Charity Pub Quiz

Last night H2H held its first fundraising event here in Saigon; trivia at the Spotted Cow in Pham Ngu Lao. I'd like to give a big thanks to everyone who came, it was a capacity crowd and I loved seeing all of the support for the charity work we're doing. We're about two and a half months away from beginning the ride (we leave from Hanoi on April 3rd), and time is going to fly between now and then. There will be a few more events before we leave, and last night was a great start - we raised VND12,700,000, or a little over $600.

Just a reminder for any new readers, H2H (short for Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City) is a charity bicycle ride that first took place in 2009. We're riding for the fourth time this year, and I'm organizing the trip. We raise money through local events for people who live here, and websites for people abroad. All funds go towards several organizations that work with poor and disadvantaged Vietnamese children. If you'd like to donate, please visit: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/michaeltatarski/h2h-charity-bike-ride-2013. Last year we raised $46,000, and we're shooting for even more this time.

It was also great to see most of the riders from last year who still live in Saigon make an appearance. This was the largest H2H 2012 gathering in months. I have no idea who the guy sitting down is.

  1. Im wondering can a Vietnamese guy like me participate in the event. I've read your blog about H2H and it's very amazing. =P

    1. H2H is open to anyone, but this year's ride is actually full, we only take 20 people and we have that many. There will be another ride next year though!

    2. you guys should bike through mui ne/ phan thiet. It should be fun biking right next to the beach and sand dunes

    3. Good suggestion but our route is already set and we mostly avoid the coast, it's too close to highway 1 and all of the bus and truck traffic on it. We do stop at 2 beaches but they are both up north.

  2. I owe you a world full of thanks for the post. It was really nice and amazing post.
